Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)
A Flock of Seagulls’ 1981 recording of “Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)” is the earliest release on file. Frank Maudsley, Paul Reynolds, Ali Score and Mike Score of A Flock of Seagulls are credited as its writers. Also recorded by Lardpony (released 2006), Sankt Otten (released 2011) and It’s O.K. (released 1992), among 69 recordings of this work on MusicBrainz.
Four names share that writing credit, both Scores among them, and the song kept traveling long after the band's own 1981 cut. Sankt Otten took it on in 2011, so put the two side by side and hear how it holds up thirty years on.
