New Sensation

1987 · via INXS

INXS’ 1987 recording of “New Sensation” is the earliest release on file. Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence of INXS are credited as its writers. Also recorded by Snow Patrol (released 2009), Record Club (released 2010) and Courtney Barnett (released 2012), among 63 recordings of this work on MusicBrainz.

From the counter

Farriss and Hutchence wrote this one in-house, and it kept traveling long after the band cut it. Courtney Barnett had it on record in 2012, so play hers right after theirs and see how well the song holds up in other hands.
